ETASS Reinsurance -A Digital Transformation Initiative for India's Reinsurance Market

     

ETASS Re - Electronic Transaction Administration and Settlement System for Reinsurance is a first-of-its-kind digital platform developed by the General Insurance Council (GI Council) under the guidance of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and the ETASS Re Task Force.

ETASS Re has been designed to provide a secure, standardized, and transparent digital ecosystem for managing domestic outward reinsurance transactions across the Indian Non-Life Insurance Industry. The platform enables seamless collaboration among Cedants, Indian Reinsurers, Foreign Reinsurance Branches (FRBs), International Financial Service Centre Insurance Offices (IIOs), Cross Border Reinsurers (CBRs), and Reinsurance Brokers, thereby promoting efficiency, transparency, and industry-wide standardization.
The platform is applicable to all domestic outward non-life reinsurance contracts incepting on or after 1 April 2026.

Implementation Status
