Shri R. Chandrasekaran started his career as a banker in 1974 and switched over to the General Insurance Industry, when he joined GIC Re as Junior Officer in 1978. In GIC Re, he rose to hold the post of General Manager between 2005 and 2008. A versatile personality, Shri Chandrasekaran has handled almost all departments in GIC and has been instrumental in many far reaching decisions in the Corporation. After GIC, he was the DGM in charge of Technical operations, Marketing and Information Technology in Kuwait Reinsurance Company, Kuwait. In his capacity as Secretary General of the G I Council, he spearheads various initiatives in taking up priority industry issues with the IRDA and Government Authorities for resolution.
Shri Chandrasekaran has several academic and professional qualifications under his belt and these include, Advanced Accountancy and Cost Accounts, PGDM from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Fellow of Insurance Institute of India (FIII), Associate Member of Institute of Risk Management (MIRM, London, Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), London and Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB), Mumbai, Certificate in Computer Software.
Pratibha Arvind Sarathy
Pratibha Arvind Sarathy has worked with the GI Council since Sept 2015, taking care of. She has over 15 years of work experience across sectors such as Telecom, Power, Tourism, Social sector, and Education, by integrating IT systems and software to the traditional work methods. She has project management expertise coupled with a background in software development, and is well versed with large scale integration of systems, and business analysis. At the Council, she is responsible for all the IT projects undertaken, such as the ETASS, MIS, Fraud detection, website, PMSBY and Schengen portals etc.
K N Venkataraman
K N Venkataraman is associated with the G I Council since January 2013 as Executive Assistant to the Secretary General. He has more than 25 years work experience across various sectors, namely, paint manufacturing, Import-Export trade, Advertising & PR, Social development sector and a two year stint in Durban, South Africa in the knitted garments industry. At the Council he looks after all the communication and administrative requirements of the Secretary General and plays a key role in the smooth functioning of the Council Secretariat.
