Samadhan Samaroh 2026

Samadhan Samaroh 2026 is a nationwide dispute resolution initiative launched by the Supreme Court of India to facilitate the amicable settlement of pending cases through mediation and Lok Adalat mechanisms. The initiative commenced on 21 April 2026 and will culminate in a Special Lok Adalat on 21–23 August 2026.

Key Features

Objective: Reduce the backlog of pending Supreme Court cases while promoting accessible, participative, and consensual justice.

Scope: More than 45,000 cases have been identified as potentially suitable for settlement. These include disputes relating to banking, civil matters, family law, compensation claims, consumer and RERA matters, and tax disputes.

Voluntary Process: Settlement is entirely consent-based and requires agreement from all parties.

Parties may participate physically or virtually, eliminating the need to travel to Delhi.

Process

  1. Case Identification: The Centre for Research and Planning identifies suitable cases, and parties and Advocates-on-Record are informed through SMS and email.
  2. Pre-Lok Adalat Meetings: Settlement discussions are conducted at mediation centres operated by Legal Services Authorities at various levels with trained mediators.
  3. Participation Requests: Even litigants not directly contacted may seek inclusion if their pending cases are amenable to settlement.

In essence, Samadhan Samaroh 2026 is a large-scale judicial initiative designed to encourage consensual dispute resolution, reduce litigation burden, and provide faster, more accessible justice to litigants across India.
