2nd Zonal workshop on e-Transport held in Guwahati 28-29 October 2022

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH)  through NIC has developed flagship applications like Vahan and Sarathi to provide convenience, ease of services to citizens, government organizations and other stakeholders. Furthermore a host of initiatives under the umbrella solution comprising eChallan, traffic enforcement solution, Pollution Certification, mParivahan mobile app, National Register, VLTS (Vehicle Location Tracking System), iRAD (Integrated Road Accident Database) eDAR, Analytics etc. have ensured all round convenience efficiency and compliance for all users particularly citizens.

To show case this MoRTH planned  Zonal workshops with participation of all stake holders.  MoRTH organized their 2nd Zonal Workshop on e-Transport applications like Vahan, Sarathi, eChallan, mParivartan and sensitization workshop on IRAD and eDAR on 28-29 October 2022 at Guwahati. The workshop was organized for 12 Eastern and North Eastern states.

 The workshop was inaugurated by Shri Parimal Suklabaidya, Hon'ble Minister of Transport, Govt of Assam and was attended by Shri Piyush Jain, Director and Shri. Gaurav H Gupta, Dy. Secretary, MoRTH and senior officials of MoRTH and NIC from Centre and concerned States. Government Officials of Transport and Police of states also attended.  

There were very comprehensive presentations and panel discussions on the topics- introduction and overview of eTransport services, Demonstration of next generation mParivahan mobile app, new initiatives in Vahan and Sarathi new initiatives in eChallan and PUC and sensitization on iRAD & eDAR for user appraisal. There were panel discussions which focused on safer roads, safe vehicles, responsible driving, faster claim settlement and Hit and Run scheme.

General Insurance Council is closely associated with MoRTH for various insurance related initiatives. Mr Arvind Shenoy, Consultant, Motor and Ms Pratibha Sarathy, Head IT participated in the workshop.

GI Council plays an active role in coordination with the MoRTH and NIC and hope that these initiatives will create a new awareness on the critical issues related to Road Transport and Safety in the general public as well as enforcement authorities.
