The 113^th GI Council meeting and 27^th Executive Committee (EC) meetings of the GI Council were held on Monday, 24^th April 2023 at Hotel Orchid in Mumbai.

The GI Council and EC meetings are held every quarter wherein all the Council members and the EC members meet face-to-face and deliberate on various issues faced by the non-life insurance industry.

Mr. R R Singh, CMD, The Oriental Insurance Co Ltd., and Mr Rajeev Dogra, MD & CEO, Raheja QBE General Insurance, who were attending their first ever Council meeting after taking charge of their respective companies, were welcomed with a bouquet of flowers.

Apart from discussions on the ongoing projects, an important highlight of the GI Council meeting was a presentation on Mental Health Insurance made by Ms. Anisha Padukone and her team in collaboration with Centre for Mental Health Law & Policy (CMHLP) and The Life Love Laugh Foundation (LLLF).

The deliberations at the Council and EC meetings ended on a high and positive note with concrete plans being drawn up for fast-tracking various projects and spreading the benefits of general insurance to the hitherto unserved areas of the country.
