IRDAI Hosts 8th Asia-Pacific High-Level Meeting on Insurance Supervision and 20th AFIR Annual Meeting and Seminar

December 8, 2025 – Hyderabad

The Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is hosting the 8th Asia-Pacific High-Level Meeting on Insurance Supervision and the 20th Asian Forum of Insurance Regulators (AFIR) Annual Meeting and Seminar on December 9-11, 2025, at Hyderabad. These meetings will bring together over 40 senior regulatory officials from 15 jurisdictions.

The 8th Asia-Pacific High-Level Meeting on Insurance Supervision will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, an event, jointly organized by AFIR, the Financial Stability Institute (FSI) of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS). The High-Level Meeting would feature discussions around evolution and future trajectory of Supervisory Mandates; Regulatory Developments; Protection gaps in climate, health and cyber segments; and potential of Artificial Intelligence in Insurance Supervision.

This meeting is followed by the 20th AFIR Annual Meeting and Seminar (AMS), which will be held on December 10- 11, 2025. The theme for 20th edition of AMS is “Innovating with Trust, Including with Care: Charting the Insurance Path Ahead”. Delegates will deliberate on the need for driving Inclusive Insurance, Innovation in Supervision, Smarter Regulation and Risk Modelling Tools for Climate Risk.
