General Insurance Council

GI Council has been handling Hit & Run claims From FY – 2022 -2023 i.e 1.4.2022. The Claims before 1.4.2022 are being processed by the New India Assurance Company Limited. GI Council has received 3000 claims out of which 2000 claims have been settled during the year 2023-34.                             

GI Council has a team for processing the Hit & Run claims who register claims and sort out the deficiencies in the claims and do the needful to settle the claims. 

The Team handling  the Claim Settlement  are Vasudha Rao ,Karuna Sawant, Prashant Poojary, Ajay Singh, Shekhar Ballal & Yagnesh Shah.

Both manual and online processing of claims is being done. The online portal has been developed by the in-house IT team of GI Council headed by Ms. Pratibha Sarathy. Recently, some 10- districts have been given user ids to directly upload claim documents on to the online portal for the Hit & Run claims.

In the month of March,2024 the Hit & Run claims team has done excellently & processed more than 700 claims and paid the same. This was possible as the team members made sure that more than 50 claims were processed daily, and the team members worked even on the weekends on Saturdays to achieve the set target. The credit for this entire month-long operation in March 2024 is surely due to the team members who worked hard and in true team spirit to achieve the target of 700 plus claims. The team was ably supported by SG Sir, Mr. Inderjeet Singh ji, Mr. Sashi Nair, Consultant Property Insurance, Ms. Pratibha Sarathy, IT Head  K.N.Venkataraman, EIA Secretary & S. Kandan.
