IRDA Chairman inaugurated the “Launch of Insurance Policy Issuance through Common Service Centres (CSCs) set-up under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) of Government of India” at a meeting of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) held on 6.8.2014 at LIC ZONAL Training Centre, Hyderabad.”  During the meeting, Chairman IRDA issued the maiden policy of IndiaFirst Life Insurance Company’s Shubhlabh Plan and of HDFC Ergo General Insurance Company’s Motor Third Party Insurance for Two-wheeler.  Other Insurers have also filed insurance products to be sold through CSCs.  There are more than one lakh CSCs under NeGP, whose network is expected to spearhead this path-breaking initiative of IRDA for development of insurance sector and increase the insurance penetration and density in the country substantially.
